TG TET JANUARY-2026 NOTIFICATION

  1. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for appearing for the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TGTET-January-2026) to be conducted Online as Computer Based Test (CBT) by Department of School Education, Government of Telangana between 03.01.2026 and 31.01.2026

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR TS-TET PAPER-I (CLASSES I TO V):

  1. (i) Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. However in case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  2. OR
    (ii) Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with atleast 45% marks. In respect of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course prior to issue of these guidelines ( 23-12-2015).
  3. OR
    (iii)Graduation with at least 50% marks, however in case of SC / ST / BC / Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45% AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) / Bachelor of Education (Special Education)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR TS-TET PAPER - II (CLASSES VI TO VIII):

  1. (i) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education).
  2. OR
    (ii) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In respect of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to B.Ed., course prior to issue of these guidelines (23-12-2015).
  3. OR
    (iii) 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.
  4. OR
    (iv) Graduation with language concerned as one of the optional subjects OR Bachelor of oriental language (or its equivalent) OR Graduation in literature OR Post Graduation in language concerned AND Language Pandit Training Certificate/B.Ed with language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.
  5. OR
    (v) B.E/B.Tech with at least 50% marks and Passed / Pursuing Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or B.Ed. (Special Education). In respect of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.

EXAM FEE:

  1. The exam fee prescribed for appearing for TGTET-January-2026 is Rs. 750.00 (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only) for either only Paper I or only Paper II
  2. Rs.1000 (Rupees One Thousand Only) for those appearing for both Papers I and II. Candidates can pay the exam fee through Online payment option provided at the website https://schooledu.telangana.gov.in from 15.11.2025 to 29.11.2025

ONLINE APPLICATION STEPS:

  1. Go to https://schooledu.telangana.gov.in
  2. Click on Application Submission.
  3. Enter your Journal Number, Date of Payment, Date of Birth given at the time of Online payment.
  4. Click on “Proceed to fill Application”.
  5. The application will be opened.
  6. When the application form is opened, Fill all the mandatory fields
  7. Click on “Preview” button provided in the bottom of the form for preview before submitting the application.
  8. If you find all the details correct, press SUBMIT for final submission
  9. .
  10. On clicking the “Submit” button the candidate application will be freezed. ‘Please ensure that all the details are filled in properly. Application cannot be edited after final submission.’
  11. Candidate will get an SMS to the registered mobile number.
  12. After successful submission of application form online, the candidate shall preserve the details of payment ID, Journal number etc., carefully for any kind of future correspondence.

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF TS-TET:

  1. The structure and content of the TGTET is given in the following paragraphs. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

QUALIFYING MARKS IN TSTET, ISSUE OF MEMOs/CERTIFICATES

MEDIUM OF QUESTION PAPER:

  1. The question paper shall be bilingual i.e. English followed by the Language-I chosen by the candidates for all languages except Sanskrit. For the candidates choosing Sanskrit, the questions shall be in Telugu followed by Sanskrit (Devanagari script).

VALIDITY OF TET CERTIFICATE:

  1. The validity period of TET qualifying certificates for appointment, unless otherwise notified by the Government of Telangana, would remain valid for life.

Examination Centers for TGTET-January-2026:

  1. TGTET-January-2026 shall be conducted Online as Computer Based Test between 03.01.2026 and 31.01.2026. Candidates can submit order of preference of the examination centers (district) given in the online application form. However, Convenor, TGTET-January-2026 has the discretion to allot candidates to the examination districts depending on the capacity of any particular district.
