TGCET-2026 COMMON ENTRANCE TEST FOR ADMISSION IN RESIDENTIAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Admission to Class – V in [4] societies of TGSWREI Society, TGTWREI Society, MJPTBCWREI Society and TREI Society through Entrance test for the academic year 2026-27.
The Telangana Government is providing quality education to the talented students of under privileged and weaker sections of the society through Residential Schools. This helps to bring out the naturally hidden talents of the talented students and prepares them to face the challenges of the 21st century. SC, ST, BC and General Residential Institutions have been established through the welfare department and each year talented students are admitted to these schools.Admissions in [4] Societies are made through the Telangana Government Common Entrance Test (TGCET) to Class V. While education in the schools is free including boarding& lodging.

The Entrance Test for admission into Class-V in [4] Societies and Class – VI to IX in [3] societies for the academic year 2026-27 is scheduled on 22-02-2026 [Sunday] from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and examination centres arein the Telangana Districts and the centres selected by the concerned authorities across the state for classes 5th to 9th. The last date to submit online application is 25th January, 2026.

ELIGIBLE CRITERIA FOR ALL CANDIDATES:

  1. (a) Admission of candidate to class V and VI to IX in erstwhile district specific. A candidate who is studying class IV / V to VIII respectively in erstwhile district is allowed to apply for admission to [4] / [3] Societies in the same erstwhile district only.
  2. (b) A candidate appearing for the Entrance test must be studying in Class-IV / Class V to VIII respectively for the full academic year 2025-26. The candidate who has already passed/studied class V / VI to VIII respectively in previous academic years is NOT ELIGIBLE to apply & appear in the entrance test.
  3. (c) “Person with disability” means a person suffering from not less than forty percent (40%) of any disability as certified by a medical authority.
  4. (d) Annual Income of the parents should be below Rs.1,50,000/- in rural areas and Rs.2,00,000/- in urban areas.

Age of the candidate:

Mode of Admission in Schools:

  1. A. Selection for candidates will be based on erstwhile districts (Old Districts).
  2. B. Children of Fishermen of all districts are eligible for admission into MJPTBCWRS Koudipalli school. In this school admissions are provided basing on the merit and reservation of the candidate.
  3. C. All the districts candidates in Telangana are eligible for admission in TRS Sarvail (Nalgonda District) Regional Centre of Excellence school. In this school admissions are provided basing on the merit and reservation of the candidate.

5th class-Mode of Admission in Schools:

  1. Applications are invited for admission into Class VI to IX backlog vacancies/Regular admissions in TGSWREI Society, TGTWREI Society and Class VI to IX backlog vacancies of MJPTBCWREI Society
    1. B. Answers should be bubbled in the OMR sheet.
    2. C. Sample question is given in Annexure II and sample OMR sheet is given in Annexure III for the students.
    3. D. The Entrance Test question pr will be in both Telugu & English Medium.

    Method of Answering the questions:

    1. A separate OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheet will be provided. Candidates are required to mark/indicate their answers at an appropriate place on the OMR sheet.
    2. Only Blue/Black Ball Point Pen is to be used to write on the OMR Sheet. Candidates should bring their own ballpoint pens. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited.
    3. For each question, there are four options, out of which only one is correct. The candidate isrequired to select the correct option and darken the corresponding circle of the chosen option. For example, if your answer for Question no. 15 is A, darken the circle under Ain the OMR sheet.
    4. No change in the darkened circle is allowed. Striking, applying whitener/correction fluid and erasing on the OMR sheet is also not allowed. Such answers will not be evaluated.
    5. No negative marking will be done.

    Examination Centres:

    1. Entrance Test will be held in the centres selected by the concerned district authorities.

    Structure of the Entrance Test:

    The entrance test will be of two-hour duration from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM and will have 5 parts with only objective type questions. There are 100 questions in all for 100 marks and there are no negative marks.

    Mode of Selection for Admission in Schools:

    1. 1. Merit in Test.
    2. 2. Reservation criteria (based on the rules of the respective societies).
    3. 3. Nativity.
    4. 4. Special Category (Minorities, orphans, children of the Army personnel, ST students of the Agency Areas and children of the employees who are working in the Agency Areas and PHC).
    5. 5. The reservation for physically challenged Children (Divyangulu), Orphans and children of the Army personnel are considered in their respective caste reservation quota.
    6. 6. The vacancies in the special categories (Physically challenged, orphans, children of the army personnel) are filled as per the directions of the Government.
    7. 7. If the Tribal students of the Agency areas and the Children of the employees working in Agency areas are not available, these vacancies are filled with the Tribal students as per the directions of the Government.
    8. 8. The Chief Convener has the right to allot the seats of one category to another category if there are no suitable candidates in any reservation category.
    9. 9. The Chief Convenor has the right to reject the admission of any student who got selected, if he/she is found ineligible for any reason.
    10. 10. In case of tie among two or more candidates who have the same total marks, the decision will be taken in the following order: Maths ,Environmental Science,Mental Ability / GK & current Affairs, English, Telugu, DOB etc.

    RESERVATIONS:

    Procedure to register online for Entrance Test-2026:

    1. The process for submission of application for TGCET-2026 through online process. Registration can be done by paying Rs.100/- through online from Official websites.
    2. Parents and Guardians have to go through the notification cum prospectus and ensure the fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
    3. Candidates can apply online from 11.12.2025 to 25.01.2026 through any one of the following websites: :

    Process of Application

  2. It is a two stage process:
  3. A. Acknowledgment: Online Payment facility in the form of Net Banking, UPI (Paytm, Google Pay, Etc.,), Credit/ Debit card payments.
  4. B. Application: The following documents in soft form (JPG format of size between 10 to 100 kb) may be kept ready for registration.
    [a] Photograph
    [b] Aadhaar
    [c] Certificate for OH/VH/HH if candidate is claiming under physically challenged category.
    [d] Parents income Certificate
    [e] Caste Certificate [SC / ST / BC / MINORITY / EWS/MBC]
  5. The eligible candidates [by Parents and Guardians] have to fill up the online form and upload the photograph, Caste Certificate, PHC certificate and parent’s income certificate etc. The certificate should be uploaded in jpg format of the size between10- 100 kb only. Since online data is being captured, it is requested to fill the data in online application form with due care. No request will be entertained to correct/modify the data submitted by applicants.
  6. Before clicking the submit button, please go through the data entered and if any modifications are to be done then click on edit button and make the changes if any and then click the submit button. Once the application is submitted there is no further edit option for modifying the data entered.
  7. A. Requirements for acknowledgement :
    a. Income certificate issued on or after 01.01.2024 ( Exemption is given to orphan children and CAP)
    b. Caste Certificate (OC’s can upload EWS certificate otherwise not required)
    c. Proof of Birth (Birth Certificate, Passport or any Government issued document)
    d. Aadhar Number
    e. Online Payment facility in the form of Net Banking, UPI (Paytm, Google Pay, Etc.,), Credit/ Debit card payments.
  8. B. Requirement for Application:
    a. Passport size photograph
    b. Certificate for OH/VH/HH if candidate is claiming under physically challenged category
  9. 4. Hall tickets will be available for download immediately after submission of application. The candidates have to preserve a printout of the hall ticket and bring it to examination centre.

SOME IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES FOR FILLING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

  1. 1. Candidates have to go through the seat matrix carefully and check how many seats are available for each caste in the four (4) Residential Educational Institutions Societies and select their priority accordingly.
  2. 2. While filling application candidate details are to be entered carefully.
  3. 3. Parents or the Guardians of the candidates are totally responsible for the mistakes while filling online application form. TGSWREIS, TGTWREIS, MJPTBCWREIS, TREIS and CGG are not at all responsible for such mistakes once submission is completed.
  4. 4. No changes can be done after the application is uploaded.
  5. 5. Once the application is uploaded, there is no chance to make any changes. So before filling the application all the details should be verified.
  6. 6. Candidates are not eligible for admission just by attending the entrance test.
  7. 7. Only parent’s (either father or mother) phone number has to be given. NET CENTRE PHONE NUMBER SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN.
